At UP2D8, we attach great importance to the protection of your personal data. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how long we store it and what rights you have. UP2D8 acts in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible for your data?

2. What data do we collect?
We only collect and process the data necessary for the use of the UP2D8 platform:

Account and profile data: name, email address, address, date of birth, links to social media, profile picture.
Communication data: messages and interactions with organisations. Messages remain private and are not viewed by UP2D8.
Usage data: including who views a post and when you last opened the app.
Technical data: limited information necessary for the app to function (such as IP address and device information).

We do not collect payment data, as UP2D8 does not offer any premium or paid services.

3. What do we use your data for?
We use your personal data exclusively for the following purposes:

To offer and improve our services.
To enable you to follow organisations and be recognised by them.
To guarantee the security and proper functioning of our platform.
Sending service messages, newsletters and information about our services.
Conducting research to improve our services.
Preventing and tackling fraud, abuse or technical problems.

We will never use your data for other purposes without informing you in advance or asking for your consent.

4. Is data shared with third parties?
Data is not sold or passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.
Only when you decide to follow an organisation will your name be shared with that organisation so that they can accept you as a follower.
We use external service providers for hosting and storage, such as AWS and MongoDB.

5. Retention periods
We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services and to comply with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period of time, unless we are required by law to retain it for longer.

6. Your rights
As a user within the EU, you have the following rights:

Right to access your data.
Right to correct inaccurate data.
Right to delete your data (‘right to be forgotten’).
Right to restrict processing.
Right to data portability.
Right to object to processing, particularly in the case of direct marketing.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. However, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Minors
Our services are intended for persons from the age at which they are legally allowed to give independent consent (16 years in Belgium). If you are younger, you may only use the platform with the consent of a parent or guardian.

9. Changes to this policy
We may amend this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or a notification in the app. The most recent version is always available on our website.
